As the 2025 legislative session comes to an end, the Colorado Children’s Campaign's policy team offered insight into the most important things that happened for kids at the Capitol this year.

This year, FPAAC is prioritizing several Colorado legislative, federal and implementation initiatives focused on expanding access to family planning services.

Teachers from across Colorado rallied on March 20 to call for better funding for Colorado’s K-12 schools. At a moment when federal investment in education is uncertain and at risk, Colorado’s leaders must do all they can to make sure our state gets education funding right.

As the 2025 legislative session hits the halfway point, the Colorado Children’s Campaign's policy team offered insights into what's happened so far this year at the Capitol.

Please protect Cover All Coloradans by not cutting or changing the program funding that is providing Medicaid and CHP+ coverage to Colorado’s kids and families, many for the first time.

Federal spending helps give Colorado’s children a strong start. These funds help support kids’ economic security and access to education, health care, and child care. 

Colorado and national organizations are providing resources to speak up for and support children and families who are immigrants or have mixed immigration statuses.

Many children, families, and people who serve them are confused and deeply worried after a federal memo this week that interrupted and threatened to freeze funding for programs and services that are essential parts of kids’ day-to-day lives.

January 1, 2025, marked the start of Medicaid coverage through Cover All Coloradans for children and pregnant people, regardless of immigration status in Colorado.
