Colorado students with disabilities deserve the same rights, protections, and respect as every other student. Senate Bill 26-125 will ensure equal access to public schools by strengthening protections against disability and civil rights discrimination for Colorado students.

Governor Polis needs to sign this law now!

The federal government is no longer enforcing civil and disability rights like it used to, and students and families have fewer places to turn when discrimination happens in schools. Signing this bill into law will provide clear protections in Colorado law and help ensure students and families are not left holding the bag.

Signing Senate Bill 125 into law matters because it:

  • Sets clear legal rights and protections for students with disabilities in Colorado.
  • Resolves concerns early, before harm reaches students.
  • Prevents discrimination and holds schools accountable for equal access.

Colorado has an opportunity to protect disability rights and equal educational opportunity. Governor Polis must sign SB125 into law without delay and protect students with disabilities.
