The economic security of Colorado’s families significantly impacts the well–being of our state’s children. In 2020, 10.6% of children under 18 in Colorado (nearly 130,000 children) were living in poverty. Economic prosperity continues to vary significantly across the state. Less than 5% of children in Douglas and Broomfield counties were experiencing poverty in 2020, compared with nearly one–third of children in Huerfano and Costilla counties.
