Beginning in the 2023-24 school year, Colorado 4-year-olds can receive at least 15 hours per week of free, voluntary preschool through the state’s new Universal Preschool (UPK) Colorado program, administered by the newly created Colorado Department of Early Childhood (CDEC).
Colorado’s four-year graduation rate rose in 2022 – alongside the dropout rate
The on-time high school graduation rate for Colorado students increased to 82.3% among the class of 2022, according to data released last week by the CDE. However, the data also reveal a concerning development – for the first time since 2015, the state's overall dropout rate increased.
