Caregiving, in all the ways it happens in children’s lives, is essential and should be respected, prioritized, and funded accordingly. The Growing Our Future Coalition, comprised of 18 Colorado-based organizations that are committed to supporting early childhood, has strongly aligned around this core idea. Interested in learning more or being part of our work? Please join us for our first public coalition meeting on Friday, April 14 from 2-3 p.m.
Child care is the foundation of our communities, but it is not treated as such. In Colorado, funding is the central obstacle that keeps us from making child care, and caregiving more broadly, a public good. Colorado’s inequitable, broken tax code – the foundation for all state funding – is in desperate need of reform to fully fund caregiving statewide. We are working to make changes that honor caregiving and support Colorado’s families and caregivers. Please join us in April as we reimagine how we fund care in Colorado.
