Between 2017 and 2021, just 49% of Colorado’s 3- and 4-year-olds were enrolled in preschool, as reported by their caregiver. High-quality preschool programs help ensure our youngest learners start kindergarten with the skills they need to hit the ground running, and the positive effects of preschool don’t expire during childhood.
