In 2021, 11.8% of children under 18 in Colorado (nearly 145,000 children) were living in poverty. Child poverty rates vary significantly across the state. Fewer than 3% of kids in Douglas County experienced poverty in 2021, compared to more than one-third of children in Saguache and Costilla counties.
